Crossing the LD/LC – Final 30th Reunion Update

Attention All Classmates, Attention All Classmates:

Our 30th class reunion is in 7 and a butt days. The entire reunion committee is excited to see everyone, swap stories, share adventures, roam the Plain and quaff beverages.

This email is intended to provide answers to many of the questions received since the close of registration. While lengthy, it addresses information relevant to anyone attending the reunion.

Please check the reunion website frequently for updates. Some of this information is taken directly from USMA guidance, so if it sounds like it is from an official OPORD, it is.

If your question is not answered, try Googling it.

SECURITY PROCEDURES AND ENTRANCE ON TO WEST POINT:

We can now get an alumni ID badge that will allow you to go straight to the Thayer gate without having to stop at the security office.

You can request a “Grad Pass” in advance of the reunion by completing and submitting an WPAOG’s website. Doing so will enable the post security team to conduct a mandatory background check and have your pass available for pick-up upon your arrival.

To sign up, please follow this link https://www.westpointaog.org/gradpass and then read the directions on the page as to which forms require completion. It takes about 2 minutes to complete the form.

If one does not have a grad pass or a DOD identification the following applies:

  • Effective 7 June 2016, all visitors to West Point must have a Department of Defense (DoD) identification card or they must be escorted by someone with a DoD identification card.
  • If you do not have a DoD identification card, report to the Visitor Control Center located outside Thayer Gate in the Visitors Center. Hours of operation are 0600-1800, Monday-Friday.
  • When the Visitor Control Center is closed, visitors will be directed by electronic signs to proceed to the entrance gates.

  • All Graduates and their guests must wear their reunion name tag at all times in the Cadet Area.

REUNION REGISTRATION IS NOW AVAILABLE

Cheers to 30 years!

Registration for our 30th West Point Reunion is now available. Registration will be available until midnight 8 Sept 2017 (this way we don’t have to carry the credit card liability for months in advance and you don’t have to worry for months about losing those last 10 pounds). The link is available through the class email list, class website and class Facebook site.

Please ensure that you read the instructions thoroughly as there are a few nuances for various events.

There are 7 events for which tickets may be purchased:

  • Thur 28 Sept: Golf Tournament (maximum capacity 72)
  • Thur 28 Sept: “Old Corps” Welcome Back Reception, Hotel Thayer with MG Peter J. Boylan ’61, Our Comm.
  • Friday 29 Sept: Buffet Lunch in the Haig Room, Jefferson Hall
  • Friday 29 Sept: Formal Dinner at the West Point Club
  • Saturday 30 Sept; Breakfast Tailgate @ Trophy Point Band Shell
  • Saturday 30 Sept: Lunch Tailgate @ Trophy Point Band Shell
  • Saturday 30 Sept: Mess Hall Lunch

The the reunion committee has put together a kick-ass weekend at our Rockbound Highland Home. I am grateful to each classmate who volunteered their time, talent and humor. This is a team effort.

The 30th reunion committee is finalizing event menus and pricing for our 30th reunion the weekend of 28 Sept -1 Oct 2017.

We anticipate launching the registration site within the next week. The link will be available through the class email list, class website and class Facebook site. Registration will be available through mid September.

There are six events for which tickets may be purchased:

  • Thur 28 Sept: Golf Tournament (maximum capacity 72)
  • Thur 28 Sept: “Old Corps” Welcome Back Reception, Hotel Thayer with MG Peter J. Boylan ’61, Our Comm.

Reunion Update: Football Tickets Army v UTEP Now Available

Happy St. Patrick’s Day Classmates,

Football tickets for our reunion weekend are now available for purchase directly through the Army Athletic Association <http://www.goarmywestpoint.com>. The game is on Saturday 30 Sept 2017. We do not yet know the kick off time.

Tickets in the class section are $45.00 each and are available for purchase until 28 July 2017.
