‘Mr. Armstrong’ ready to celebrate with Class of 2016

Michael Armstrong knows where he will be most of the weekend — inside the Columbus Civic Center.

The East Columbus Magnet Academy math teacher and coach plans to start this afternoon at the Northside High School graduation, and by the time Spencer High graduates Saturday night, he will have attended nine Muscogee County School District commencements. With cowbells.

There is a reason for his May madness.

USMA 87 at the Athena Conference

West Point recently celebrated 40 years of women at the academy with the Athena Conference April 28 – 30, 2016. Of course 87 was there in force.

Tentative Reunion Schedule

Our reunion is the weekend of the Army v Duke Football game 28 Sept-1 Oct 2017.  It is the same weekend as the Army Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.

The tentative schedule is
Thurs – Golf Tournament and Cocktail Reception
Friday – Memorial Service, Class Meeting and Class Dinner
Sat – Parade, Football Game and Blowout Tailgate

Stephanie Cook Has A New Lease On Life And A Good Thoroughbred

Good article on Stephanie, her riding accident and coming back to win the season at The Chronicle of the Horse

Stephanie Cook’s goal for the year with Texas Checkmate was to top the Take2 Thoroughbred League’s jumper standings, but a rotational fall from another horse in May resulted in a broken pelvis, a broken C-5 vertebrae and 12 broken ribs and seemingly ended that campaign.

But with the help of good friends and a lot of determination, Cook endured 12 weeks of rehab, “Checkers” continued earning points, and she was back in the saddle in time to finish out the season and win the 2015 year-end standings.
